Distributed Leadership for Effective Academic Management: an element that Facilitates and Improves Training Processes and Transforms Institutional Contexts
This article addresses the need to reflect on the importance of leadership in academic management and how it can positively contribute to the development and growth of educational institutions. Through the authors’ narratives and experiences, it seeks to contribute to a proposal for a new leadership model in educational institutions that considers decision-making as a structural and democratizing element. First, key elements are identified, such as the strategic value of academic management and its interaction with other areas of action. Then, the development and importance of leadership in academic management and the role of the leader are discussed. Finally, the transformation and increased complexity of academic management in educational institutions are proposed through a new approach to collaborative leadership, with concrete actions that contribute to teaching and learning processes.
